The next Oppo R17 Pro smartphones will have the front camera below the screen. The Chinese society in a single stroke makes edges, holes, and notches (ie, the hollow in the top of the devices) and is increasingly oriented towards a display “full screen.” The novelty was presented at the MWC19 in Shanghai.
For the front camera under the screen, Oppo uses a screen with a transparent material, so that light can penetrate the camera. The sensor is larger than other front cameras and with a larger lens. The area of the screen reserved for the camera functions normally with touch control.
For two years, all smartphone manufacturers are looking for solutions to limit frames and other disturbing elements on the screen. Apple has launched the “notch” or “a withdrawal,” while Samsung has opted for small holes near the camera.
